The Simple Truth: We Don't Use Cookies
At IMBrief, we've made a deliberate choice to keep things simple and respect your privacy. We don't use cookies. There are no tracking cookies, marketing cookies, or analytics cookies, nothing!
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to track your browsing behaviour, remember your preferences, or serve targeted advertising. They're everywhere on the modern web.
Just not here.
Why We Don't Use Cookies
We believe in:
- Privacy first - Your browsing habits are your business
- Performance - No cookies means faster page loads
- Simplicity - No cookie banners interrupting your reading
- Trust - We don't need to track you to provide great content
How We Operate Without Cookies
Analytics Without Tracking
We use Fathom Analytics, which provides us with general traffic insights without using cookies or storing personal data. We can see how many people read our articles, but we can't track individuals.
Newsletter Subscriptions
When you subscribe to The Investment Migration Brief, we store your email address on Ghost Pro's servers (in the EU). This isn't done through cookies—you explicitly provide your email, and we only use it to send you our newsletter.
No Login Required
We don't require accounts or logins to read IMBrief. Our content is freely accessible without tracking.
Third-Party Services
While we don't set cookies, some third-party services might:
Your Browser
Modern browsers may store data for functionality (like remembering you've visited before), but we don't control or install those cookies.
Embedded Content
If we embed content from other platforms (like videos), those platforms may use their own cookies. For this reason, we minimise embedded content.
Your Browser Settings
Even though we don't use cookies, you can still control cookies in your browser:
- Most browsers let you block all cookies
- You can delete cookies at any time
- You can browse in private/incognito mode
None of these settings will affect your IMBrief experience—our website works exactly the same either way.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy if our approach changes. Given our commitment to privacy, we don't anticipate using cookies, but if we ever did, we'd:
- Update this policy first
- Notify our newsletter subscribers
- Implement proper consent mechanisms
